Relationship history and consent
When a Supreme Court judge asks, in open court, "She went on to have a child with the man without marriage, and now she is saying rape and assault — what is this?", two things happen simultaneously.

A retired Indian Army officer was injured in a road rage incident in Gurugram after a minor collision turned violent late Friday night. Police have arrested five men in connection with the attack, while one accused is still on the run.
The victim, Colonel Anil Yadav (retd), was returning home after visiting his sick father at Medanta Hospital in Sector 5. He was driving towards Sector 60 when his car slightly brushed against another vehicle near Badshahpur, following which six young men travelling in the other car stopped him and began abusing and assaulting him.

Police said the attackers also tried to force the retired officer into their car, but the attempt failed due to traffic congestion at the spot. During the chaos, the accused allegedly pressured him into transferring ₹30,000 through a UPI payment before fleeing when vehicles began piling up.
Following the incident, the retired officer shared his ordeal on social media platform X, claiming there was a delay in police action and that his statement was not recorded immediately. His post drew wide public attention, leading to the registration of an FIR by Gurugram Police at Sector 50 police station on February 23 under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to assault, extortion, intimidation and damage to property.
Five accused — Pankaj (23), Vikas (21), Nikhil (21) from Rewari district, and Sahil (22) and Ankit Kumar (22) from Mahendergarh — have been arrested. Police said the group had attended a wedding function in Badshahpur before the incident.
